ACE Career Exploration
ACE Career Exploration offers four comprehensive workshops designed to empower blind and low vision individuals in their career journeys. The program includes an Employment Summit featuring expert-led workshops and job fairs, career exploration using O*NET Interest Profiles with opportunities to network with successful blind professionals, an Entrepreneurship Boot Camp led by blind entrepreneurs, and a specialized track for careers in music and entertainment that connects participants with accomplished blind music professionals.

1. ACE Academy Employment Summit *
During this multi-day conference, participants explore the many dimensions of getting a job through an array of blindness employment-related workshops led by employment experts in the blindness field. Engaging sessions and success stories empower and prepare participants for job-searching. They also attend a unique virtual or in person job fair with interested employers.
2. ACE Career Exploration with O*NET™ Interest Profiles and Informational Interviewing
In this program, participants discover the connection between personality, interest and career choice. Students complete the fully accessible O*NET Interest Inventory to understand their interests and strengths. They then learn to use informational interviews as a tool for career exploration. They meet, network with and interview successful blind and low vision people from throughout the U.S. who are working as Creators, Doers, Helpers, Organizers, Persuaders and Thinkers. They identify jobs in high demand fields.
3. ACE Entrepreneurship Boot Camp
This unique workshop aims to afford participants with the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship as a long-term career. The program will equip participants with the essential skills, insights, motivation, and network to help launch their service, product, or idea. All sessions are developed and led by experienced entrepreneurs who happen to be blind.
4. ACE Careers in Music and Entertainment *
B/LV participants explore their career interests using the US Department of Labor’s O*Net Interest Profiler, and explore high demand musical fields which may match their interests. They practice informational interviewing skills as a vitally important strategy for career exploration. Participants have the unique opportunity, via Zoom, to interview and network with successfully employed blind and low vision music professionals from around the country who are working in music occupations.
